About the Position

The Senior Solutions Architect at Flywheel acts as a trusted technical and scientific advisor to the company’s customers, ensuring the successful implementation, integration, optimization, and continued use of its products. They work directly with researchers, clinicians, and data scientists to deliver tailored solutions that empower scientific discovery and drive product adoption. In this role, the Senior Solutions Architect bridges technical expertise, customer advocacy, and cross-functional collaboration to enable long-term customer success. 

Success in this role will be measured by the architect’s ability to drive successful customer outcomes through timely and high-quality technical implementations, workflow design, and ongoing support. Key indicators of success include customer satisfaction and retention, platform adoption and usage, effective collaboration across internal teams, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve technical challenges. A successful Senior Solutions Architect will also contribute to the scalability of Flywheel’s services by developing reusable solutions, supporting internal enablement, and identifying opportunities for customer expansion. 

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background and a passion for customer engagement. They will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 8+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Solutions Architect or Technical Consultant. They should have familiarity with medical imaging workflows, experience working with scripting languages, and exposure to cloud-based environments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to integrate Flywheel into existing data ecosystems and infrastructure. 
  • Lead and support imaging data migrations, including the design, scoping, and gathering of user requirements to develop custom workflows aligned with specific research or clinical goals. 
  • Deliver engaging, customized training (both on-site and virtual) based on customer needs and product functionality.
  • Provide high-level technical support throughout the customer journey, from onboarding to ongoing use. 
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, issues, and outcomes to inform internal teams and improve services. 
  • Coordinate trials/pilots of software products and serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the trial/pilot period. 
  • Work closely with Sales, Implementations, Product, Engineering, Support, and Scientific Solutions teams to ensure seamless customer experiences throughout the customer journey. 
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, translating feedback into actionable insights to influence product strategy. 
  • Contribute to internal documentation, support articles, and reusable training resources to scale knowledge-sharing across the organization. 
  • Support account growth by identifying expansion opportunities and collaborating with Sales and Marketing on strategy. 
  • Help drive successful implementations through collaborative planning, execution, and customer coordination. 
  • Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously, balancing responsiveness with technical depth. 
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately, following through to resolution. 
  • Clearly track project milestones and contracted deliverables to ensure timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are met.

What would make you a great fit

  • Strong expertise in medical imaging workflows and standards, including DICOM, MRI, and CT, with a deep understanding of their application in clinical and research environments. 
  • Demonstrated experience with data management platforms and cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, GCP, or Azure, for scalable, secure data storage and processing. 
  • Proficient in scripting and data analysis languages, such as Python, MATLAB, or SQL, with a focus on workflow automation, data transformation, and reproducible research. 
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing environments, including containerization (e.g., Docker), high-performance computing (HPC), or cloud-native compute platforms. 
  • Experience in regulated industries, such as healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research, with working knowledge of compliance and privacy standards like HIPAA, GDPR, or equivalent frameworks. 
  • Experience in presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including researchers, clinicians, and executive stakeholders. 
  • Adept at tailoring communication styles and materials to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Skilled at partnering with Sales and Marketing teams to support pre-sales discussions, pilot programs, and account expansion efforts. 
  • Proficient in translating customer feedback into actionable insights that inform product enhancements and roadmap decisions.
